Individualne razlike u pogledu različitih socijalno relevantnih aspekata ljudskog ponašanja, kao i njihov odnos sa bazičnim dimenzijama ličnosti spadaju u ključne oblasti interesovanja članova i saradnika Lire.
Istraživači Lire izučavaju individualne razlike u pogledu ideološki motivisanog nasilja. U ovom pogledu, istraživači se dominantno bave militantnim ekstremizmom, pre svega mentalnim sklopom militantnih ekstremista (Međedović & Petrović, 2015, 2016; Saucier, Akers, Shen-Miller, Knežević & Stankov, 2009; Stankov, Higgins, Saucier & Knežević, 2010; Stankov, Saucier & Knežević, 2010), kao i konflitknim etosom – sistemom uverenja koji se razvija tokom dugotrajnih međugrupnih sukoba (Međedović & Petrović, 2016), a izučavaju i efekte ovih fenomena na političko ponašanje (Međedović & Petrović, 2013).
Takođe, istraživači Lire bave se i razvojem i validacijom obuhvatnih modela strukture socijalnih stavova, rukovođeni leksičkim pristupom (Petrović & Međedović, 2011; Petrović, 2016), kao i kros-kulturnim razlikama u pogledu nekognitivnih izvora individualnih razlika, uključujući i leksičke socijalne stavove (Stankov, Lee, & van de Vijver, 2014; Stankov, 2015; Stankov & Lee, 2016; Stankov, 2016). Naši istraživači učestvuju i u istraživanjima kros-kulturnih razlika u pogledu stereotipa o nacionalnim karakterima (Terraciano, …Knežević, …, & McCrae, 2005; McCrae, …Knežević, Purić, … & Terraciano, 2013).
Jedna od istraživačkih linija bavi se razumevanjem doprinosa dezintegracije objašnjenju različitih ideoloških orijentacija, odnosno, bazičnih socijalnih stavova. Tokom prethodnog perioda, ispitivani su odnosi bazičnih crta ličnosti (uključujući i dezintegraciju) i desničarske autoritarnosti (Keller & Knežević, 2016), kao i dezintegracije i konzervativizma (Petrović & Međedović, 2016).
Članovi Lire ulažu napore i u validaciju teorije moralnih osnova (Graham, Haidt, Koleva, Motyl, Iyer, Wojcik, & Ditto, 2013), zauzimajući kritički stav prema aspektima ove teorije na bazi prikupljenih empirijskih podataka (Međedović & Petrović, 2016).
Članovi Lire bave se i proučavanjem individualnih razlika u stavovima prema specifičnim društvenim grupama, kao što su migranti (Petrović, 2016; Vukčević, Momirović, & Purić, 2016; Vukčević, Dobrić, & Purić, 2014), Romi (Radoš, Zdraveva,& Žeželj, 2019; Žeželj, Jakšić, & Jošić, 2014), LGBT osobe (Bjekić, Živanović, Žeželj, 2016; Lazarević, Orlić, & Knežević, 2015; Žeželj, Milošević-Đorđević, Niekerk, & Pavlović, 2019; Živanović, Đokić, Lazarević, Orlić, & Bjekić, 2014), osobe sa invaliditetom (Petrović, Stojisavljević i Lukić, 2016; Jelisavac i Petrović, 2013; Veljković i Petrović, 2013) te osobe sa teškoćama mentalnog zdravlja (Pejović-Milovančević, Lečić-Toševski, Tenjović, & Popović-Deusić, 2009).
Pored toga, u laboratoriji se istražuju i individualne razlike u takozvanim „epistemološki sumnjivim“ ili iracionalnim verovanjima (Žeželj & Lazarević, 2019), kao što su verovanja u teorije zavere (Lukić, Žeželj, & Stanković, 2019), sujeverje (Žeželj, Pavlović, Vladisavljević, & Radivojević, 2009), kao i razlike u sklonostima ka kognitivnim pristrasnostima, u ovom slučaju ličnim ili grupnim memorijskim pristrasnostima (Zupan, Žeželj, & Anđelković, 2017; Psaltis, Franc, Smeekes, Ioannou, & Žeželj, 2017).
